This mold makes very small gummy bears, so it’s quite time consuming to pipe and remove them from the molds. If you get air bubbles, and want to remove them – use a toothpick. The initial gelatin smell goes away quickly after Homemade Orange Gummy Bears cool down. I store them in refrigerator but they also keep shape at room temperature. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes, or until completely set. Using a dropper (it comes with the molds pictured here), pipe the gelatin mixture into the molds. The liquid shouldn’t get hot, just warm enough to dissolve any visible clumps and chunks. Whisk 1 cup orange juice with 3 tablespoons sweetener and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla in a small heavy bottom sauce pan (I use this butter warmer).Īdd 6 tablespoons of gelatin, and warm on low until gelatin dissolves. Prepare molds (if you use these, you will need two sets or use one set and pour the rest into ramekins to slice into cubes later). Improves skin, strengthens bones, nails and skinģ tablespoons sweetener (honey or maple syrup)ġ/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, but gives it creamy orange flavor)Ħ tablespoons grass fed gelatin (I use Great Lakes in orange can).Protects joints, and prevents joint pain.Gelatin improves gut flora and digestion. I am certainly glad to know that my kids’ treats belong in a category of nutrient dense food. Only three ingredients, and a little patience go a long way to make both mom and kids happy. Since I discovered these neat little molds, I’ve been obsessed with making my own. My kids really enjoy them as well but even my favorite natural brand is overly sweet and has some ingredients that make me wonder why they are there. Gummy bears are such cute little treats, I always feel like I should be playing with them rather then eating.
